A 50-year-old man arrested in connection with a check forgery scheme was yesterday remanded to prison.


Errol Knowles, appeared before Magistrate Samuel McKinney accused of passing forged checks to eight businesses and fraudulently obtaining $21,517.36 in goods.


Prosecutors allege that Knowles pretended to be a businessman while writing forged checks to the companies from June 14 this year to October 16, 2018.


Knowles is accused of defrauding 3M Technology on Robinson Road; Tyreflex; Tropical Nursery; Modernistic Nursery; Bahamian Paint Depot; Harbourside Marine; Master Technicians; Bahamas Welding and Fire; and Nassau Gas and Tanks.
